Hamilton is unique in many ways. One such way, as we all know, is our association with its Steel Industry. We believe that if we could unite and bring together the Industry that put us on the map with the industry that can shoot us into the stratosphere of stardom, that it will only make Our City stronger. A growing term that is increasingly being used to identify the Steel City of Hamilton is, ‘The Hammer.’ Therefore, our idea of using a specially designed large hammer to cement the fist prints is a way of tying this Entertainment conglomerate to Hamilton’s original identity. Having a company like Dofasco, a cornerstone of our community representing generations of hardworking Hamiltonians, who is willing to associate itself with the creation of this specially designed hammer that will be on display for all to see, would be a great honor for this facility. The finished hammer will then actually be used by those celebrities who provide us with their fist prints, who in turn would take the hammer and smash their fists into our great wall. Also, in keeping with the ‘Steeltown’ theme, the giant wall of fist prints would be made of a replica steel wall, reinforcing the idea of strength and longevity for our city and those who have visited.
