FOREIGN AFFAIRS & HERITAGE MINISTER

One way that Our proposal is unique is its inclusion of keeping with an identity. The City of Hamilton’s identity can be found through keeping with our Steeltown theme with the ‘Wall of Steel’ and the ‘Hammer.’ By taking this one step further, to a National level, we feel that incorporating Our Country’s coins (Coinex) on ‘The Treasure Way’ can be a way of also paying tribute to Our National Identity as Canadians. Our money is unique and representative of the foundation for all great development in this country. The symbolism is also powerful because it reveals the path that Canadians have had to struggle along to reach great heights and accomplishments in the Entertainment Industry and how our Government has been there to support it every step of the way. Therefore, it is our hope that the Canadian Government would see this opportunity to get involved by providing the special Canadian coins that would become the path of Our Treasure Way. Furthermore, just as the Aboriginals planted the seeds that lead to the development of this fantastic country, we feel that coins representative of Our Native Culture would best symbolize an establishment that is hoping to achieve that same status of greatness. As well, since this country is a great melting pot, we are looking at getting exposure on an international level and would rely on Foreign Affairs and our Heritage Minister to assist us in providing the necessary contacts toward our goal of eventually becoming an International Entertainment Conglomerate.

NATIONAL SUPPORT

The idea for this complex is not only to bring Hamilton to the forefront, but also to show Canada that Hamilton’s potential to establish a Film and Television Industry can be just as flourishing and effective as the three big markets of Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. We have already seen that Hollywood itself has recognized the tremendous benefits of shooting in Hamilton. It only seems fit that our Federal Government would need to be involved in this project as a way of promoting our country’s unlimited potential and continued growth in the Entertainment Industry. The Government’s involvement would need to include many areas, the first of which would be, its recognition of the benefits of such a project by supporting it through public policy; And secondly, through its support of funding and / or development of this project. With the assistance of the Government on such a project, Canadians would feel more confident in entering the Entertainment field, knowing that it would be a viable career choice, with sufficient support and many potential options.
